the living machine

Inspired by ecosystems as old as the earth itself, Living Machines® naturally treats wastewater to reusable quality.

Living Machines® accelerates nature's own water purification process. Unlike chemically-based systems, Living Machines® incorporates helpful bacteria, plants, snails and fish that thrive by breaking down and digesting organic pollutants.

Wastewater treatment takes place through a series of managed environments, in each of which, a variety of organisms consume the waste products in the water.

Asienvironment Canada Inc. designs each Living Machines® Ecosystem to meet individual client's needs and requirements. A typical Living Machines® Ecosystem treats wastewater using a variety of different steps (reactors) or ecosystems.

Normally, a Living Machines® Ecosystem treats wastewater to the advanced or tertiary standards given below.

"Unlike anything born of the Industrial Revolution, Living Machines® have the potential to organize, repair and reproduce themselves. They offer a cheaper, cleaner, chemical-free alternative for containing and removing high-strength waste."
